PsyAsia Training Courses in Asia
Please see our main
site and it's training
pages for full details.
PsyAsia International
runs professional training
courses in the areas of human resource management, general
management and employee selection and development. The
majority of these courses are facilitated by experienced
organizational psychologists who bring an understanding
of the psychology of the workplace in addition to HRM
issues and who comply with a code of ethics and competence.
Some courses are led by non-psychologists, yet experienced
trainers who have worked in a human resource management
capacity and are now involved in training and consultancy
in this important area. The following provides an introduction
to the courses that we are most frequently involved
in. However, please contact
us should there be a specific-area of workplace
psychology/human resource management that you currently
require that is not mentioned here.
Apollo Profile
Accreditation. Run
by PsyAsia's organizational psychologists over one or
two days (depending on previous experience) to ensure
users of the Apollo Profile are competent and confident
to administer the test, interpret the results and use
the results professionally and ethically as part of
the decision-making process in selection or as part
of the development cycle
Assessment
& Development Centres. PsyAsia's
three-day Assessment and Development Centre Course provides
delegates with a grounding in the assessment centre
methodology. The final day is reserved for delegates
to design, manage, participate in and assess within
a full assessment centre.
Behavior Based
Interviewing Workshop. The
interview is a common tool for employee selection. However,
many interviewers have never been trained and it has
long been recognised that there is little intra- and
inter-rater reliability (consistency) where traditional
non-structured interviews are utilised. This two-day
workshop provides busy recruitment agency staff, selection
panels and line management with tools for increasing
the objectivity and standardisation of interviews.
Human Resource
Management. PsyAsia
is proud to offer a full Human Resource Management Course
that follows the complete 'HR Cycle'. This course can
be delivered in its entirety (and this is the recommended
option because previous modules draw on subsequent ones)
or on a per module basis when presented as an in-house
course. There are a total of 10 modules. The complete
10-module course is available as a public course in
Hong Kong and Singapore
Identity Questionnaire
Accreditation. Run
by PsyAsia's organizational psychologists over one or
two days (depending on previous experience) to ensure
users of the Identity Questionnaire are competent and
confident to administer the test, interpret the results
and use the results professionally and ethically as
part of the decision-making process in selection or
as part of the development cycle
Interview
& Other Skills for Job Applicants.
Many job applicants have the knowledge,
skills, attitude, experience and competencies to undertake
a job that is on offer. However, they are not gifted
in the art of demonstrating this to selection panels.
This one-day event assists job applicants of any age
and experience in preparing for the selection process
and ensuring that they convey their skills to the panel.
Managing Conflict
at Work. Workplaces
are full of conflict. Conflict occurs between team members,
between those of different teams and departments, between
management and lower level staff and between the front-line
and the external environment - the client/customer.
This one-day event tackles conflict and provides attendees
with a toolbox of skills for reducing, managing and
negotiating conflict.
Interpersonal and Organizational Communication.
This one-day course aims to provide
delegates with a greater understanding of the importance
of effective communication for both internal and external
organizational success. More effective communication
results in increased productivity and team commitment
as well as enhanced customer service.
Performance
Appraisal. This
course is aimed at managers, supervisors and those who
are responsible for and conduct performance appraisals.
Delegates learn how to devise the competency framework
for the appraisal based on a job analysis, how to design
appraisal forms and questions, and how to avoid appraisals
which are ultimately meaningless due to endorsement
of middle responses. Effective appraisal interviewing
and feedback to appraisees is also covered.
Psychometric
Test Administration. PsyAsia's
one-day Psychometric Test Administration Course provides
delegates with the ability to understand and competently
practice the administration of ability and personality
assessments in organizational settings.
Psychometric
Assessment at Work: Level A. This
course provides the foundations to the competent and
effective use of psychometric tests at work. At this
level, particular reference is made to Ability
Tests. The course leads to the fulfillment
of the requirements for the British Psychological Society
Level A Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing.
Psychometric
Assessment at Work: Level B. Building
upon Level A, this 3 day course focuses on the competent
administration, scoring, interpretation and reporting/feedback
of Personality Assessments for selection
and development. The course leads to the fulfillment
of the requirements for the British Psychological Society
Level B (Intermediate) Certificate of Competence in
Occupational Testing.
Stress Management
at Work. This two-day
course containing 8 units is facilitated by a registered
organizational psychologist with a diploma specifically
in Stress Management Training. Delegates learn how to
effectively manage stress at work by exploring both
thought-based processes in stress, as well as relaxation
techniques. Includes psychometric assessment of personality.
Time and Performance Management.
Become equipped with the skills
and confidence to get more out of your day by learning
about the effective use of time at work. Includes psychometric
assessment of personality. Delivered by organizational
psychologists.
